I'm most concerned and intrigued by the sudden change at center.  Anyone have the inside scoop on what that was all about?  Was Pearsbacher or however you spell it not getting the job done or was Bozeman that much better to warrant a change somewhat late in Fall camp?

I used to enjoy the the pick'em contest.  I logged back on for the first time in a while, and I can't for the life of me remember how to vote.  I think I got the stupid all of a sudden.  Seems like It used to show the teams and point spread and I just clicked on my pick.  Roll Tide anyway....

Why would we not have a safety over the top of Coates with just a minute to go in half?  Why?  Unbelievable.

Why didn't we run left behind Robinson?  I thought that was where we had a little bit of success this year. We ran 8,723 runs to the right for nuttin'.  Why not run behind left tackle? Why? ...And I don't like walmarks either

It also seems that almost every game we have a "blown" coverage that leads to a touchdown.  With these younger guys Bama has to play in the secondary, another question that I have is, "do we need to dumb down the schemes", and yet another is "are we doing that already"?  A great scheme that cannot be executed consistently is not a good scheme.  Sometimes keep it simple stupid really does work.  These are a few things that cross my mind in regards to secondary play.

We need players that are really good but not good enough to go NFL until they graduate...lol

I am befuddled (nice word huh, I just looked it up) as to why we can't have secondary play like this with the kind of recruiting we have had over the past few years.  It leads me to this question.  Is Alabama recruiting unable to keep up with the flow of players heading into the NFL draft early?

Well, I thought I might spur some good conversation about defensive back play from someone who was at the game.  The article heading for this thread doesn't really get into it much, other than some general comments, where my post has been relegated to the relative obscurity of reply #12.

I think one thing that hasn't been discussed from the loss to Ole Miss, is how good their secondary is, and how much it contributed to their win.  Not only in pass coverage, but also as to how well they got off of stalk blocks and played the run.  Anyone else notice?  Sometimes it's hard to get the full picture watching on TV because you don't always see the entire field.
