Morning, CRS! Happy Sunday!
I didn't get to watch much of the game yesterday due to work. It's that time of year where everyone is traveling and spending money, including our team at work, so sales go up and our staffing get slimmer. I was already planning to work some overtime this month to go ahead and get next year's races and a new-to-me triathlon specific bike frame paid for, but I may end up working more than I planned.
Today's third Sunday eatin' day at church. Our numbers have gotten smaller over the years, but still plenty of good country cooking to choose from.

Morning, all! We’re on the road headed back to Tuscaloosa, passing through Valdosta, GA as I type.
I had a decent race yesterday. The course was great and it was well organized event. I battled a little anxiety at the start of the swim, but managed to settle in. The bike leg through the farmland of south Florida was beautiful, but a strong headwind slowed me down on the last half. The run was HOT, and despite my best efforts to stay fueled, hydrated, and keep my electrolytes up I was running on fumes for most of the 13.1 miles. 6:50:52 total time, 62/145 overall and 7/18 in my age group. Everything hurts today and it makes me happy.

Happy game day! The drive to Miami took a bit longer than Google said it would, but we made it. Hanging out with our friends today and the race is tomorrow.
Interested to see how Bama performs today. Nothing left to play for but pride for this team. I hope they have some.

Happy Friday! I’m in Hartford, AL this morning - stayed the night with my uncle in my dad’s hometown. We’re headed down to Miami for my final race of the year and staying with friends.
Weather was gray from Tuscaloosa to Troy, then turned to rain. It looks like the remnants of Nicole will be out of Florida by the time we get back on the road. Forecast for race day Sunday is perfect - should be clear skies with a low of 70 and high in the mid-80’s.

I watched a little as I was going to bed. I can’t make any judgments on the team yet, but sounds like the freshmen played really well. If they can continue to improve and the team comes together as a team, as opposed to last year’s collection of players, it could be a good year and the foundation for greater things to come.

Why do our DBs pull down the WR on every deep ball while the reverse never happens when we throw deep?
Why do opponents' defenses live in our backfield?
Why does a defense with as much as ours not live in opponents' backfields?
Why do our players look like they're just going through the motions? Where is the fire? Where is the passion? Where is the fun?
Last year I could write it off as an inexperienced team in a rebuilding year. This team is loaded. It shouldn't be this way.

This may be heresy but I was worried when Coach was so optimistic pre-season.
He should have been confident. We had 8 or 9 returning starters on defense, a returning QB who won the Heisman, we had highly recruited receivers, Jamir Gibbs from the portal, highly rated O-Line recruits, and good recruiting classes. We are also stuck with poor coaching at the DC, OC, O-Line, & Receivers. Like I said earlier, this team should have been one of the best ever. Bryce’s shoulder is a big deal, but apart from that this team is sloppy and lacks the will to dominate that characterized the teams of the last decade. Some of those teams played hard fought games at LSU, but the problems we’re seeing have defined the last two seasons. All about coaching or the lack of it. Our teams were better when the coordinators were young and hungry. Saban’s washed out, burned out friends are not getting it done.
