I really think university presidents are the main reason we don't have a playoff. I think they feel that the massive revenue that most programs receive might be threatened with a playoff system. I'm not sure where that rationale comes from, but I occasionally read bits and pieces that this is the concern.

Agree, but I don't think the coaches really want a playoff, either. Each team woud have to play at least two more games, so that probably impacts the thinking of the University Presidents, too.

I agree with the President in both cases. Play-off would be good but I love the Bowl games. Why can't we have both? RTR!

It would be fun to have more college football during mid-winter doldrums.  But...

Alabama is better off with the system we have now.

The SEC has won 5 in a row.  Why would you want to change that?  The winner of the SEC will play for the NC as it stands now.  Why help the little teams with weak schedules?
