Stubbornly No. 2 Alabama sure looked like a No. 1 team Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide looked just a week removed from its domination of LSU in last season’s Bowl Championship Series final while opening this season with a 41-14 handling of No. 8 Michigan, and one wonders how voters on the Associated Press and USA Today panels will see things now.

What to think of the Alabama team that jumped on Michigan 31-0 and didn’t let the Wolverines cross midfield until late in the second quarter?

What to think of the inexperienced defense that held Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson to 227 total yards — just 27 rushing?

What to think of an offense that showed almost a full poker hand of running backs and a flash of the explosiveness that Nick Saban said he wanted when hiring new coordinator Doug Nussmeier? ...

So now, I guess any jackass that can throw 65 yds off his back leg will think he has the recipe for beating the Tide.

But only if Alabama's DBs slip down on plastic turf, and Alabama is ahead by 31 points.  "Yes", under those conditions a jackass might think that.  There's one at Auburn who thinks that way.

I feel the same way Chech, if not for a couple of lucky breaks Michigan never scores.

Those plays won't work next week.  Count on it.  CNS said all along that there might be some coverage break downs due to inexperience, but the effort and intensity would be there.  I would say he nailed it.  Now those boys have some game experience under their belt.  In a few weeks they will be seasoned pros.  Arkansas seemed to struggle last night, so I don't think they will be a problem.  By the time we get to LSU we will be back in national championship form in the secondary if we can stay healthy.

Yes we had some timing issues on offense and penalties that hurt, but that will be fixed. Our defensive Backs grew up some last night and by Arky game they will be better. I sure think our coaches could use a little more intensity, CNS was slack last night, especially at the halftime interview. There is room all around, the cheerleaders weren't very loud or at least I couldn't hear them. Time for next week to be better. RTR!
