It seems to me that CJ Moseley has overtaken Nico as our best LB. I watched the replay of Saturday's game, and Nico, who played most of the night because of LSU's formations, played very poorly. He was very slow getting to the hole, he wasn't filling the void like he was supposed to, and he got blocked out of the play most of the night. I don't know if this was just a bad game by Nico, but he was the main reason LSU was running all over us. I hope we don't play any more teams that play the Power I, because I want CJ on the field more than Nico. The DL didn't play great, but they did do their job and occupy the blockers. The LBs just didn't make any plays. Trey Depriest also struggled getting off blocks against LSU. For our D to be successful I think we have to have CJ on the field, because he flies to the ball and fills the holes. We should play much better against the Aggies because CJ should be on the field all day.

They play two different positions. CJ is in the game in passing situations. He is a good cover LB and speed to the outside. Nico is the MLB on running downs. He is a better run stopper than CJ. CJ leads the team in tackles with 67 and Nico is second with 44. They are both very effective in what they are asked to do.

If you have a power offense with a fullback that can get to lb's and block well it will be hard for them to make tackles.

I understand that they have 2 different roles  on the team. What I was saying is that Nico did a very poor job most of the night against the run. I am hoping that he just had a bad night and he will play better the rest of the year. But regardless, Nico, who is supposed to be our best run stopper, was not good at stopping LSU.

Every single LSU player was focused Saturday night. They've been waiting since
Jan. 9 to inflict their revenge...in Baton Rouge...under the lights....after 2 weeks to prepare for us...rested. Many of our players looked like they played poorly and at times, did. But LSU had a very good game plan and executed it. We were very fortunate to come out with the win. I doubt you will see Nico or any of the starters get dominated like they often did, during the rest of the season. I think LSU woke up the napping giant Saturday night.
