Alabama junior golfer Bud Cauley has been announced as one of 10 semifinalists for the 2011 Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird Private Wealth Management, in association with Colonial Country Club, The Friends of Golf (FOG) and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The most prestigious award in men’s college golf, the Hogan is presented annually to the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period.
Cauley, who was a finalist for last year's Hogan Award and a semifinalist in 2009, has one tournament victory and five top-10 finishes so far this season. He boasts 10 rounds in the 60’s, including a low of 65, and a 54-hole low of nine-under par 201 at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational which he won by five shots.
He boasts a crisp 70.48 stroke average and is currently ranked No. 6 the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
