I think football has a good rule in place. A college player can not go to the NFL draft until after his third year. College basketball and baseball need to adopt this rule.
Agreed pmull. I can remember back in the 70's and 80's they had Pro players who had degrees and couldn't spell their name. That is sad. I think kids need that first 3 years and in all sports. RTR!
I agree as well. Just from a physical, psychological and emotional development perspective, men aren't fully developed until they are 21-22 years old. The capacity for decision making and judgment is still a ways off at 18 yo. I mean people like LaBron are just physical freaks of nature, but he was emotionally immature and pretty impulsive...ie the hour-long ESPN special of him leaving for Miami and he was in his mid-20s then. I think college is a good transition in learning what it means to be an adult after living with Momma for 18 years.
