Hey general as a geologistyou better get yo predictions right! lol, RTR!

I know you are joking, but in all seriousness, I very rarely make firm statements related to my work.  I use words such as "likely" "probable" "possible" "potentially" and "unknown".

Correct me if I am wrong here general (geology was never my strong suit), but predicting earthquakes seem to be much harder to do with complete certainty than are severe weather formations.

predicting earthquakes is impossible at this time.  There are major variables we do not know.  All we can do is look at history and give very broad time frames or say something appears to be "due".

No where near the ability to predict weather.

Gotcha. See what I mean about geology not being my strong suit (probably why I am a history major; its much easier!). I did not realize that it was impossible to predict EQs, but that makes a lot of sense. I also agree on the weather.

As far as I know UAH does not have a geology program.  I got my B.S. at South Alabama.  I went to UAH for physics.

I didnt know you lived in huntsville.  I am there 5 days a week.

I lived and worked in Decatur and drove to UAH to get my BA. Huntsvile is a great town. In fact, that whole area is good, Athens, Decatur, Hartselle, Huntsville, Madison, etc.
