It was that sort of thinking that prompted Tony to be so quick to grab the phone when he heard about Bell’s decision to walk away from Alabama one game into his senior season.

Among the flurry of tweets Bell sent out when he announced his decision, he wrote that he needed to “focus my responsibilities MY kiDS.” Tony was quickly reassured when he learned McCarron, whom Bell’s children call “Uncle AJ,” had picked up Bell, spent time with him and helped convince him to return to the team.

“AJ said, ‘Look, this isn't the way it's going to happen,” Tony recalled. “‘We came in together, we're going out together. We all graduated together, we all did everything together.’

“They're like brothers.”

When you go through the battlefield together you do become brothers. You traded sweat, helped each other up, and doubled up on blocking assignments. Yea we are brothers. RTR!

Thanks to XBAMA, I have a hat autographed by AJ & Kenny. I'm very glad KB was convinced to stay. He will look back one day and be glad he did.
