Auburn is a basketball coaches nightmare. If Pearl is the exception the barn will only be a stepping stone to a better job. He has a steep hill to climb to get that program turned around.

If, and that's a HUGE "if", Pearl is = to Saban then it still won't help much because the cow chaser's basketball program is not and never has been the equilivant to Bama football... never will either IMO.

Wow! Talk about stupid comparisons. Saban came to a proven, tradition-rich football program. Pearl is going to a BB program whose highlight reel would be 5 minutes long for its entire history. Pearl is a very solid coach, but just to go say, 22-9 in the regular season, win 2 games in the SEC tourney, and make the Sweet 16 is a Herculean job at the Barn.

I saw what Coach Pearl did at Tenn. and was amazed. He did though have something to start with. Here he comes to auburn with nothing and no hope that I see in the future. We shall see! RTR!

At best, Pearl will be considered the 3rd best BB coach in the SEC. I gotta believe that Saban might be considered #1 in football.
