I am at a Division II school, and from what I have heard from those faculty on the Athletic Committee, is that yes, the NCAA is finally serious. Now all this is second hand so take it with a grain of salt. I thought of serving on committee but they are expected to attend all home games, and I will be danged if I miss a Bama game for a Division II game.

Gene Chizik of Auburn wanted some answers from Jule Roe Lach, the NCAA's vice president of enforcement. Chizik wanted to know why the NCAA had not announced that its investigation into Auburn's recruitment of former quarterback Cam Newton was over. Chizik pressed Lach for some kind of closure.

Lach finally responded: "You'll know when we're finished. And we're not finished." Oops.

This is a very telling statement...
