The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Jones, a native of Irmo, S.C., will take an official visit to Alabama this weekend. Jones is rated as the top junior college defensive tackle and the nation's No. 4 junior college prospect on the 247Sports composite rankings.

"It's a place I can play," Jones said of Alabama. "I feel comfortable there. As far as playing time, it's a place I can go in and play at nose guard."

Jones committed to Florida State over the summer, but will sign with the Seminoles, Alabama or Ole Miss next Wednesday and enroll in January, he said. ...

Rumor is J. Reed (JUCO transfer JR) will enter the draft. B. Ivory also graduates this year. We need that big run stopper in the middle like Cody, Chapman, Ivory, Reed, etc.

Hmmm, seems like Jones may have had a change of heart. It looks as though another recruit, Jonathon Taylor, an ex-Georgia defensive lineman, has some interest

East Mississippi Community College nose tackle D.J. Jones originally told AL.com he was visiting, but told the Sun Herald Thursday that the visit was up in the air. Jones has not responded to AL.com on Friday to see if he was making the trip.
