The SEC, which invited OU to join its league last year, would likely come calling again. The league would love to make the Sooners its 14th member along with the Aggies.

But for OU, that's a last resort.

Instead, the Sooners first will wait and see if Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott makes another move.

On the field, Stoops called the idea of expanding OU's recruiting base to California "pretty cool" last summer.

With Texas A&M opening the doors even wider to the SEC recruiting Texas' high school talent, it would be prudent for the Sooners to have another recruiting pipeline.

My only question about OU moving is would they want to move to the SEC and leave Oklahoma State behind or would Ok State want to follow them. The State government would probably get involved with that move.

I think the 14th team will come from the East to keep balance in the conference alignment. Oklahoma would be my pick for the 15th team. I'm not sure how any move Oklahoma makes will be affected by OK St. I know Oklahoma has show the desire to stay with Texas. If Texas goes independant that propblem is solved.

Make no mistake -- OU and Stoops are scared of the SEC.  OU tried to buy out a game against Bama when they thought they had a BCS Championship team.  They know full well that the competition in the SEC is tougher and that will make it tougher for OU to make it to BCS games if OU were in the SEC.  So I don't think OU really wants to be in the SEC.  The Pac12 would not provide quite as tough competition, so they are probably leaning in that direction.

In that other article. The writer stated he thought that OK State would go where ever Oklahoma goes. I personally doubt that the PAc-12 wants state. I could be wrong. All this is total spectulation this early. I did read when Notre Dome turned the B12 down already this week. So who knows?
