The Bengals may have told him to get lost. I doubt he would leave a championship quality team & take a pay cut.

Offensive tackle Andre Smith announced on Twitter on Thursday morning that he was signing a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings. The former Huffman High School and Alabama Crimson Tide standout had spent his entire seven-season NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

He was a free agent and his contract was up.  So Cincy didn't tell him to get lost; although they also didn't want to extend his employment at his existing salary. 

Not worth $6 million a year anymore, only $4.5 million.  Must be rough.
