"Jalen did a really, really good job. He's very athletic, and I think that was a real plus for our team to have him there for a few days to be able to have that kind of quickness for us to try to react to." – Saban

Imagine opponents having to prepare for 2 Bama offenses!!

He seems to be a very good athlete, you never know where he will end up playing.

Everything I'm hearing is that he is a very special player. I hope they create some plays for him occasionally, to throw off the opponent's defense. I know that would burn his red shirt, but he's apparently an immense talent.

If he is as good as it sounds then he may be starting by next year if not this year. RTR!

I watched the replay of the game last night and I won't be a bit surprised if Hurts is the starter at QB next season. I didn't see a thing out of the other QB's that impressed me that much but I did see some things in Hurts that could propel him with some good work in the off season. It's a stretch to think this but if he is as coachable as he seems to be, he is going to push some folks at the QB position come next fall. I was also impressed with Harris running the ball, he is coming in to what folks have expected him to be.

To me, the team is about where it was at this time last year with the QB position being the weak link in the chain and I look for fall practice to be a battle field for that position.

Here I go again wishing my life away. I wish fall practice started tomorrow. I am ready to see who is going to lead us down that NCG path this year. Could it be young MR Hurts or blake or is one of the seasoned guys going to step up? RTR!

I sure hope you are right. Hurts is exciting to watch! Has CNS ever started  a freshman at QB?

CNS has not started a true freshman QB at Alabama. I do not think he is opposed to it. He has repeated stated that he will start the player at any position that gives the team the best chance to be successful.

In the press conference yesterday he said that you cannot rush naming a starter. It is as important to win the teams respect as it is the coaching staff. No one did that this Spring.

The last two years has taught me not to get too concerned over the QB position based on the A-Day game. Sims and Coker did fine but looked terrible at A-Day.

Jalen Hurt is a huge talent but don't get caught up in his A-Day stats. Great TD pass, and he likely would have had a ton of rushing yards but for the touch tackling.
One long completion should have been an INT though -- the defender knocked the ball up and it happened to land in the receiver's hands.  Also, I don't think he was facing the same #1 Defense that the starting QB faced.

Still, this kid is special and might just keep Kiffin around a few more years.
