Like their classic uniforms, like their legendary coach, like their cavernous stadium - and what is there not to like? - Penn State is nothing fancy on a football field.
"Those are the hardest teams to play against, because they don't make mistakes," said Alabama coach Nick Saban, whose third-ranked Crimson Tide (1-0) pays a 2:30 p.m. CDT visit today to No. 23 Penn State (1-0).
"Most of the time, mental errors and mistakes that you make lead to negative consequences in a game," Saban said.
"When a team doesn't do that very much, they don't have many negative consequences they have to deal with. You have to create that, you have to match that, you have to play very well, very sound, very physical against them, or you're going to have problems."
