Player of the game: Alabama's McCarron. The sophomore avoided major miscues and made several big throws at critical points. He finished the game 19-for-31 passing for 163 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Running back Trent Richardson also had a nice performance (109 rush yards, 2 TDs).

Bama played an overall good game after their performance last week. Th OL did a good job of protecting AJ and run blocked better in the second half. The "D" gave up that last drive and CNS didn't like that at all, but they played a very good game other than that.

They played like future champions. CNS knows with this team the sky is the limit. It is a very long season and it will take all the players best effort to go 14-0, but I think they can and will be successful.

One game at a time and not waiting until the last game for Michigan State game type performances. The OL has 2 AA contenders and maybe one of our best. Their rush blocking is where it should be this time of year but the pass blocking is not. But they protected AJM well enough to keep him off his ass but there were too many rushes and deflections. Receivers need better separation. Punting and kicking need to improve, but coverage has been good. The Tide hit hard today. RTR

Well I'm delighted we won the game!

OL definately better than last week & as you guys said, better with pass blocking.  But to me run blocking is still poor.  Overall = average. If we're going to make a run to NC, they've got to get a whoooole lot better.

D pretty much controlled the game when they were out there.

AJ was poised and made some great on the money throws.  But he's not yet shown any great playmaking ability.  If we needed QB to spark the team in 4th qtr, I would not want to depend on him to do it.  In his defense, I thought play calling and play design was lame.  Maybe the correct approach for a hostile environment like this though.

Can't understand why we don't run more plays from sideline to sideline.  It stretches out opposing D and wears them down.

Wasn't the second team D in for the Penn State touchdown drive?

I wondered that too, so I looked when they got down inside the 10.  I know I saw Baron and Dre in there.  But he may have sent the 1st team back out for the goal line plays.
