he was inspired by extra motivation from Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome and a realization that he was too big during his time at the University of Alabama

Momma needs to call Ozzie.  We have a spot open.  Make him the AD, and create a new position for Mal that is 100% dedicated to fund raising and facility upgrades.

The AD at Bama makes $400,000 a year, the GM of an NFL team probably hauls in at least $3-4 mil a year. He ain't coming, sadly.

CMM has done a remarkable reversing the patterns of the Shula/Gottfried era. Talk has turned, to All-Sports champioships. Granted, a lot of CMM's progress was marked by the CNS hire, but you must admit that things have taken a dramatic turn for the better under CMM. What exactly do you feel Ozzie brings to the table that we don't already have? I have to point out that I was in school with Ozzie, so I am a huge fan and think he has conducted himself remarkably.

This is more of a succession plan idea than meeting a current need.  I like CMM myself.

I think CMM has done a good job too. Our facilities have improved greatly under his watch. My only concern is his age.

CMM wife passed away 2 years ago from alzheimer's. That diease is truly terrible on the person and the primary caregiver. She was sick for years before CMM moved to the La Rocha sp? nursing home. When he was still coaching he was driving home at lunch to feed and take care of her.

I imagine he has more focus on the University and his job at hand and will do fine for some time to come. In an interview with PF right after he hired CNS, sounded like he would stay 5-7 more years and retire. He has taken the facilites in a short time since 2002 and turned them into some of the best in the country.

I would like to see a state-of-the-art baseball park (best in the country--better than Omaha) be the crown jewel and crescendo of his Tide career! We need the property that used to be Bryce.

This just might happen, I've heard a little gossip on this but nothing firm.
