Offensive lineman D.J. Fluker wasn't going to be playing in San Diego in 2017 in any case because the Chargers relocated to Los Angeles in January. But after being released by the NFL team on Tuesday, the former Alabama standout won't be playing with the Chargers either.
Fluker still used the occasion to say thanks to the fans in San Diego and to express appreciation to the Chargers for "changing my life" by selecting him with the 11th choice in the 2013 draft, even though Los Angeles released Fluker two days before his $8,821,000 salary for the 2017 season would have become guaranteed.
