I don't get this "analysis." The Braves signed 2 over age 40 pitchers in the offseason and just acquired 37 year old Ryan Howard who hit .196 with 25 homers. This sounds like a youth movement?

The Atlanta Braves are not a bad team by any means. On paper, they have strong talent, but they just can’t seem to win games.

After acquiring talented youngster Dansby Swanson prior to last season, the expectation was that Atlanta had built a strong young team. He fulfilled said promise by slashing at .302/.361/.442 during his six weeks in the Majors last season. But the youngster is struggling through the early part of the 2017 season.

Braves have 2nd oldest team in MLB at 30.5 years. All 3 catchers are over 30, 2 are age 33. One pitcher is 43, another 42.

The Braves organization is a dumpster fire. Atlanta, if nothing else over the past several years, has drafted and developed very good pitchers. They could have kept enough for a great staff and traded for the young skill players they need. Instead, their ace is a fat, over-the-hill, Bartolo Colon. The only skilled player worth anything is Freddie Freeman. Nick Markakis could be an elite player down the road, but that's about it.

They may make a liar out of me as the season goes on, and I hope they do, but I would be surprised. At present, there is no chemistry on that team.

He's already way down the road, he's 33, part of the "younger" players. The Braves organization has lied its a** off for the last 4 years about retooling the lineup while dumping "old" guys like Jason Hayward (not yet 28), Craig Kimbrell 28, Andrelton Simmons 27, & others. The talk the last 2 years was just wait, with a new stadium and an updated line-up would make the Braves a contender. The group that owns the Braves are only concerned with making money & screw the fans. The Braves are 20th in payroll out of 30 teams, this after they increased their payroll by 30% from 2016. Of course, they blew it on 2 over age 40 pitchers, and some other over-the-hill players.

More bad news for a team already floundering. Braves are 16-21 right now.

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman suffered a fractured left wrist when he was hit by a pitch and is expected to miss about 10 weeks.

Freeman was hit by Toronto's Aaron Loup during the fifth inning of an 8-4 victory over the Blue Jays on Wednesday night.

Freeman was Atlanta's most productive hitter. He was hitting .341 and tied for the major league lead with 14 homers.

Braves general manager John Coppolella said he "will leave no stone unturned" in his search for help at first base through a trade. He said veteran first baseman Ryan Howard, who was released from Triple-A Gwinnett on May 8, is not an option.

I think the Braves signed James Loney.  Vet player.  Avg hitter.  Excellent in the field.

The Braves have been snake bit ever since Bobby Cox left. Cox would not take no crap from whoever it was and he made them play baseball. I don't think Atlanta will ever be a contender again. They are my 2nd most favorite team with the O's being my first but I just don't know what has happened. RTR!

The Atlanta Braves have found their fill-in for injured star Freddie Freeman.

On Saturday, the Braves acquired first baseman Matt Adams and cash from the St. Louis Cardinals for minor league infielder Juan Yepez.

Braves are 18-22 and in 2nd place in Eastern Division. Worst division in MLB. They are on a 7-3 run.
