Game notes: FSU vs Bama

Passes/attempts:
1.    The first attempt was on the 2nd play of the game and Hurts overthrew Ridley for what could have been a TD. Good news is that he missed where he needed to miss.
2.   Second attempt was complete but the route was short of the first down marker. Ball on target
3.   Third attempt right guard was beat and Hurts had no chance to look down field got back to LOS to save a negative play.
4.   Fourth attempt hit Bo on stride on a flair pass and he was stopped by a very good tackle.
5.   Fifth attempt ball batted back down to him for a completion to himself. Here you have a cover guy coming off the inside rec on the blitz.
6.   Six attempt he looks right and comes back to the left to hit Ridley and the ball was on target.
7.   Seventh pressure coming from the left tackle position and Hurts takes off for a 20+ yard gain. Probably could have stepped up but coverage looked man and he made a huge gain.
8.   Eight attempt threw a nice back shoulder throw to Ridley and he came down out of bounds. The defender pushed him out of bounds for a good play.
9.   Ninth attempt ball was rolled back to him on the ground. According to the announcers Bo was open in the end zone for a TD. Hurts scrambled to avoid a negative play.
10.   Tenth thrown on target to Ridley for a first down. It was a little low.
11.   Eleventh attempt 53 yard strike to Ridley hit on stride. Last year ball was usually underthrown.
12.   Twelfth attempt no chance to set up on boot. Guard is beat and looks like the center came off his block a little soon. Threw the ball away to avoid a negative play.
13.   Thirteenth attempt there are two defenders lined up outside the right tackle no adjustment is made and Hurts is hit right before he throws the ball.
14.   Fourteenth looks he is looking toward the TE, who didn’t get off the LOS and about the time he sets up he is pressured by the LT’s man along with the RT’s man. Sacked for about a 1 yard loss.
15.   Fifteenth looks like he checks down to Ridley on a 3rd and 7th and come up a yard or two short.
16.   Sixteenth blitzed from the left side in an empty set. Two outside the LT and Hurts is on the run from the beginning. Throws the ball away to avoid a sack. Someone has to have a hot route to counter act this or needs to check out of the play.
17.   Seventeenth pressure from the left side as Bo misses his block. Hurts scrambles and throw a dart to Jeudy for a 26 yard gain which is negated by a holding call on the RG. Hurts may have been able to step up instead of scrambling.
18.   Eighteenth people may have thought it was a pass but it was QB draw all the way.
19.   Nineteenth complete to Harris for a first down.
20.   Twentieth Ridley going to be wide open and FSU commits a pass interference.
21.   Twenty first look like a RPO and he keeps for a short gain.
22.   Twenty second a short wide rec screen which Ridley stopped short on. He lost 11 yards by running backwards.
23.   Twenty third on third and 18 has time but Hurts takes off. TV doesn’t’ show what is going on downfield.
24.   Twenty fourth missed blocks again give the QB no time and he is sacked this time. Bo, and the RT misses blocks.
25.   Twenty fifth low snap 4 man rush and RG, LT and RT don’t do a very good job. Scramble picks up about 5 yards.
26.   Twenty sixth two point conversion looks like an PRO and he hits Ridley for the 2 points.
27.   Twenty seventh looking deep after an interception probably could have stepped up. I would love to be able to see the complete field so I could see what the rec’ s looked like.
28.   Twenty eight pass complete to Ridley again a good tackle stops player short of first down, but going for it on 4th and 1.
29.   Twenty ninth off the finger tips to Ruggs III who probably could/should have caught it especially if he takes another step before reaching for the ball.
30.   Thirtieth again pressure by the players over the two tackles and scrambles and makes a throw that Is placed only where the rec can get it but out of bounds.
31.   Thirty first blitz comes off the inside rec and if that rec runs a slant or quick post he could possibly get the ball for a TD. Hurts is pressured before he can set up and throws the ball away to prevent a negative play.
32.   Thirty second look like an RPO that get immediate pressure so Hurts keeps to avoid a negative play.

Problem OL must do a better job especially at the tackle position. They have a problem when a TE is lined up on their side and the defender is wide
Problem rec must have some type of hot route adjustments on blitzes
Problem you must be able to check out of some plays
Problem back must do a better job at one on one passing definite passing situations.
