"We were lackluster in the first half, which is a little bit concerning," Nick Saban said. "It wasn't explosive (at halftime). The players were emotional and responded on their own. I challenged them, saying, 'Look, you have 30 minutes to play and you have to decide what you want. Everybody has to make a commitment to who you are, what kind of competitor you are, and what you want. That's where your intensity, your passion and your enthusiasm come from, which we didn't have in the first half.' "
