Been a Cardinal fan since the 1950's.  Before the Braves came south, the Cardinals were the only team we could listen to on the radio. (Yes, before TV too).  My family's summer vacation for several years was a trip to St.Louis  to see the Cards play.  How many of you remember Stan Musial, Red Schoendiest, and Enos Slaughter? Cool

Just saw Hoyt Wilhelm (knuckleball?) pitched for STL, --also Dizzy Dean. My days it was Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, Lou Brock

I know a few Southerners who are Cardinals fans for that reason.  Cardinals on the radio!
