As I perused each SEC team's schedule (the master list was officially released Wednesday by the league, a few things jumped out to me.
One, South Carolina is the only team in the league that has three consecutive true SEC road games. Granted, there's a bye week mixed in there, but South Carolina plays at Mississippi State on Oct. 15, at Tennessee on Oct. 29 and at Arkansas on Nov. 5.
How the Gamecocks navigate that stretch will go a long way toward determining whether or not they return to Atlanta to play in the SEC championship game.
The second thing that jumped out is that the first part of Auburn's schedule is brutal.
Remember all those home games that got the Tigers rolling last season on their way to the national championship? Well, four of their first eight games in 2011 are on the road -- at Clemson on Sept. 17, at South Carolina on Oct. 1, at Arkansas on Oct. 8 and at LSU on Oct. 22. The home games are tough, too -- Mississippi State to kick off the SEC season on Sept. 10 and Florida on Oct. 15.
Who faces the easiest month of September?
