Quote
Less than 48 hours after Alabama was crowned as the BCS national champion in New Orleans, Coach Nick Saban called a meeting of the Crimson Tide players returning for 2012.

"I looked around the room and that is when it hit me," said defensive end Damion Square. "There were a lot of great guys who were not walking back through that door." ............

Good article. I think these guys come to play this year. I think the 2010 team was much younger and much more inexperienced on "D". Come to think of it, the "O" line was pretty young in '10 also.

I say anytime you've got a young CNS coached team you are in for a treat. I like that, Under the Radar thing. Michigan is going to be the telling story of this season without a doubt. RTR!

I heard Scott Hunter on Mobile sports radio yesterday talking about how A.J. threw the ball nearly 40 times in their first scrimmage. He said the reason for that is because the deficiency this year could be our inexperienced secondary and CNS wants the team to be ready offensively, particularly in not being a one dimensional running game. He doesn't see Bama winning a low scoring game against Michigan. Hunter said he sees more of a 38-35 victory and that CNS wants A.J. to be ready to deliver.

I think Bama's defense will be good, but maybe not as great as last year's D.  The Dline and linebackers will be stout, but the secondary might be a question mark right now.  So yes, the offense will have to step up their game to make up for those instances when the opposing teams scores off a missed assignment.

Another thing this type of practice does is give the defense more experience against the pass.

Still, I don't foresee a 38-35 victory against Michigan.  I would be shocked if they scored more than 21 (and that's generous).  Michigan is still playing with Rich Rod's recruits.

We do need to be ready in the secondary and offense but we have to deal with Denard Robinson this year and our first game. I think we need to be up to the challenge of a lot of things. RTR!

I hope they have Denard watch a lot of Jordan Jefferson in the National Championship game.  I know, I know.  Upshaw, Hightower, Chapman, Menzie, Kirkpatrick, Gentry and Barron are gone.  Moseley, Sunseri, Lester, Milliner, DePriest, and a bunch of their friends are back.   Cool

Denard has not been very resilient so far in his career.  He seems to come up gimpy in big games.  I will be surprised if he doesn't go out of the game with a sprained ankle or something before it is over.
