Only one team has a better chance than Alabama of winning the 2012 national championship, national sports analyst Danny Sheridan says, and that's the team the Crimson Tide defeated to win the 2011 title.

LSU is a 4-1 favorite to win it all this year. Alabama and USC are close behind as 5-1 picks, according to odds that Sheridan has released to al.com. The odds then drop to 10-1 for Oklahoma. ...

You a gambling man?  Now's your chance.
LSU will likely melt down again with misbehavior, so USC is the only likely contender for Alabama.

I think USCw underachieves again this year. I don't see their "D" holding up. On the other hand, "D" is all LSU has, that is proven. Mettenberger may be the next Bert Jones, but for right now, he is unproven and there are a lot of questions about their "O". I like our chances.

LSU's D will have more experience than Bama's, but Bama's O showed it could move the ball against LSU, and Bama's D is built to stop an offense like LSU's power rushing game.  So, I like our chances too.

LSU I feel like is putting to much of a load on the new QB Mettenberger. He has a tough defense to practice against but they will not be knocking him down. I don't know if he can throw the ball accurate if he has to throw it straight up. His WR's are going to have the real deal DB's in the SEC. Plus it sounds if our kicking game has improved. Instead of getting 38 yds. a kick we may now be getting 44 yds. That makes the field longer. I think LSU is going  to be good but just not good enough. JMHO. RTR!

SoCal? With Lame Kitten? I thought you meant the University of South Carolina.

:Eyeroll:

You can't keep up without a program.  The genius folks that predict BCS winners think this year will be won by either Bama, LSU, or USCw (Sou Cal).

At least they don't have Oklahoma on top this year.

One thing for sure USCw would have a lot easier road to the BCS NCG. Then they will run into an SEC defense that will maul them. I don't know how or why but the SEC has the great defensive players and that is why our offenses don't look so great. RTR!
