Click here for linkThe folks at Rivals.com created a buzz last week with their annual Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta, drawing some of the nation's top prospects. College coaches -- and analysts from other recruiting web sites -- aren't allowed to attend.
So why go if you are a high-profile prospect? For the competition against elite talent and to improve your status in the world of cyber recruiting.
"Everybody who's there is already well-known," said Justin Hokanson, an analyst for AuburnSports. com, a part of the Rivals team. "It's literally the best players in the country. Every kid there was a four- or five-star prospect and the point is to get the players competing against the best. The four-star guys are trying to become five stars."
Eighty top members of the Class of 2013 attended, as did a smaller sampling of rising high school juniors.
One notable absentee: Clemson commitment Robert Nkemdiche, who remains Rivals' top-rated prospect for the upcoming season.
