I thought gambling was suppose to keep the schools of the state in great shape? Where is the gambling winnings helping this school? This a prime example of gambling being a lie to get it in the state. They have a school who is so deserving of being a Div.1 school and the gaming won't help out. I hate this for for Nevada that worked so hard to get there and now it may be swept away. RTR!
The whole state of Nevada has hit the toilet due to the financial crisis. Unemployment is 14%, they have the highest rate of foreclosures in the nation, and Las Vegas "tourism" is down like 25%. You'reright though, gambling is a short term solution. The poiticians blow all the tax revenue from gambling and after 15 or 20 years, they need more money because all the social programs and size of government have continued growing till it exceeds the tax revenues. Then, they start looking for ways to raise more tax revenue. It's a vicious circle and it's fianlly caought up to our country and most of the states.
