Alabama's Trevor Releford a first-team All-SEC pick by league's coaches

Alabama's Trevor Releford is one of the best players in the Southeastern Conference, according to the league's coaches.

The junior guard was named Tuesday to the first-team All-SEC team, along with seven other players.

Releford, who leads Alabama in scoring (15.6 ppg) and steals (61), also was named to the six-man SEC All-Defensive Team.

Releford is ranked second in the SEC in steals per game (2.1) and is fifth in scoring (15.6 ppg), field-goal percentage (.490), free-throw percentage (.820) and minutes per game (33.2). He also leads Alabama in 3-point field goal percentage (.436, 44-of-101) and is second in assists per game (2.7).

I am glad to see Releford get the recognition he deserves for his outstanding play. I hate to think were Alabama basketball would be without him the last three years.

A great honor for a very good player. Without him the last 2 years we have a losing record, no doubt about it.
