This is a very important road series for our team. We are off to a good start and we need to keep the momentum going. We must win at least one game but if we could pick up two wins that would be fantastic. Ole Miss needs this series worst than we do. They are off to a slow start at 4-8 in SEC play. They have lost 7 of their last 9 games but still have a good RPI and ranked 18th.
The No. 22-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (22-13, 8-4 SEC) will travel to Oxford, Miss., to play a three game series against the No. 18-ranked Mississippi Rebels (23-10, 4-8) this weekend. Game one of the series will begin at 6:30 p.m. CST, from Swayze Field on Friday night. Game two, which will be televised on CSS, will start at 4 p.m. CST, and the series finale will begin at 1:30 p.m. CST, on Sunday.
All Alabama baseball games throughout the 2013 season will be broadcast by the Crimson Tide Sports Network. All three games of the Mississippi series will be broadcast on 95.3 The Bear. Chris Stewart will be solo on Friday and will be joined by Lee Tracey for the weekend games. Livestats will also be available on RollTide.com. A live webcast will be available on olemisssports.com through the subscription package for the Friday and Sunday games.
Alabama posted a pair of mid-week home wins over Alcorn State, 3-2 and 7-3, on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. In its last SEC series, Alabama lost two of three games to No. 9 Arkansas, after closing the series with a 5-0 win on Saturday. With an 8-4 SEC record, Alabama is currently tied for second place in the SEC Western Division with Arkansas. The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 22 by Collegiate Baseball News and is receiving votes in the USA Today Sports Coaches and NCBWA polls.
