Alabama wins 4-3 in 10 innings today to avoid a sweep.
LSU came into the weekend with a 35-3 overall record and 13-2 in SEC play. They were ranked No. 2.
We lost Game 1 5-0. LSU has not just the best pitcher in the SEC but in the Nation. He shut our bats down and LSU got another Friday night win.
Game 2 was one of the best games every played in Sewell Thomas Stadium. Only problem was Bama came out on the wrong side. LSU lead 8-5 going into the bottom of the ninth. We hit a 3 run HR off the LSU closer to put the game into extra innings. LSU got 3 runs in the 16th to win 11-8. It was the longest game in school history.
Game 3 was another classic. Albama lead 3-2 going into the top of the 9th. LSU got a run to tie it up at 3-3. Alabama holds LSU in the top of the 10th and Kyle Overstreet gets a walkoff single in the bottom of the 10th for the win.
We went toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country this weekend and held our own. We lost the series but we played hard baseball for three days and avoided the sweep. Our team has really inproved in all areas since last year.
We are 24-18 on the season and a respectable 9-9 in SEC play. We just went through a very difficult three week schedule of Arky, Ole Miss and LSU and we are still 9-9. We have a pretty good team.
We play a mid-week game at Southern Miss and host A&M next weekend.
