I served with the 1/75th Rangers at Ft. Stewart, Ga. I was chosen in the first 100 to help establish the Regimen. "Rangers Lead the Way." RTR!
Cool. I'm a cav recon guy myself by MOS. But, oddly enough, I've spent the majority of my time in and around JSOC and ABN IN assignments. I had a rare opportunity to work for Regiment prior to my current assignment, but declined a glorified staff position to enjoy a virtual hands-off gig in lovely South America (accompanied tour to boot).
I figure I have a few more years to try and show some young Hooahs that I'm still as hard as I was when they first pinned that little tab on my shoulder, but after 3+ years of deployments worldwide and anothe almost 2+ of simply sleeping away from my own bed due to normal circumstances (training, TDY, etc.), I figured 2+ years of solid family time was the better option.
There is no better family than the Army and fellow paratroopers and rangers will always have a soft place in my heart. Thanks for your service.
Always standing by to help if I can...not just lip service, for the record.
