The Alabama softball team inked Demi Turner out of Huntsville High School (Huntsville, Texas) head coach Patrick Murphy has announced.
"Demi is a great all-around fit for us," Murphy said. "She comes from a very athletic family and has a combination of speed and power that we look for in our lefties. She is going to be fun to watch."
A former teammate of current Crimson Tide outfielder Andrea Hawkins, Turner posted a .653 batting average from the left side of the plate over the summer of 2012 to lead her club team, Impact Gold. Turner batted .715 including a home run in the fall nationals. In 2013 the team finished third at the TCS Nationals. Turner is coached by KC Jackson on the Impact Gold club team.
