Texas sems to think they can get ANY coach they want. i think they are going to be embarrasses more than once over replacing Mack Brown.

To wit: Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com, who initially reported Brown was out and has always been a reliable source when it comes to Texas information, went on Fox Sports Live and reported that Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh are possible candidates for the job.

[And I think Nick Saban's at the top of the list. I think Urban Meyer would probably be second. I've heard maybe Mike Tomlin could be approached in this. I think you have to look at guys like David Shaw -- even though he hasn't won a national title -- and Jim Harbaugh. Both had success at Stanford and school president Bill Powers is a Cal graduate and wants Texas to be seen in the same light as Cal and Stanford."

Going after Jim Harbaugh and even Tomlin is incredibly naive. Harbaugh is from Ohio and played at Michigan. Also, he is divorced and his kids are in San Fran. Tomlin is from Virginia and the HC of a fabled program. Why would he leave, because Texas wants him & so he can appear on the Longhorn Network? Give me a break.

"Are you trying to be funny?" Harbaugh said after he was asked a question about Texas, via the San Jose Mercury News.

As the newspaper points out, Harbaugh is in the third year of a five-year, $25 million contract, and there was a report that Harbaugh "flat-out rejected" USC when it came after him after it fired Lane Kiffin.
