I always thought this was a solid franchise in Huntsville. I bet the lack of a new stadium was an issue.

Huntsville's stadium cannot compete with a new 36 million dollar stadium in Biloxi.  Neither the owners nor the city are interested in the investment needed for an upgrade.  Attendance has been down here too.

Attendance at Huntsville games this year averaged 1,877. The lowest in the league. It has been that way for years. A new stadium would help. They try and promote the Stars having fireworks, give aways, kids get in free, etc. The interest is just not there in Huntsville.

The article stated Huntsville was trying to get another minor league team. Is Huntsville going to upgrade their stadium or going to get a single A team, which would be a downgraded team from the Double A Stars?

I bet they tried to get the city/county to build a stadium and they said no. Good for them, if that's what happened.
