I have a feeling that there will be some surprises on the Bama front during the next three weeks. With the dead period ending tomorrrow and the new coaches arriving on campus, there should be plenty for us to talk about before February 5th.

CNS may have a bigger challenge on hand than he expected if some of these players that flipped or chose to play for another school change their minds now with the change of some coaches. Bama has only so many slots to fill so there may be some fireworks these next three weeks trying to make room for those that may change their minds. Will there be more leaving the team? Only time will tell.

Well Jamos, I hope you are right.  Will be a nice problem to have.

Maybe someone can do a count.  Seems like a couple more guys are leaving for NFL than originally thought.  Does that help with open slots in any way?

I don't think guys leaving early helps with anything but recruiting.
We don't gain any scholarships this year, but overall numbers being lower may open slots for walkons and such.  The NCAA allows teams to add up to 25 new scholarship players to the roster per academic year (we'll get 25 regardless of how many leave).

I think the coaching changes to this point have been positive. I know some people are not thrilled with the Kiffen hire but I am. I think he will be a very good OC and even better recruiter. I think the high school kids will love him.

Getting Bo Davis back is another good hire hire. CNS must like him a lot to take him from LSU to the Dolphins and to Alabama. I want to see the DL improve in all areas but especially the pass rush.

CNS thinks the coaching staff let up last year. They have to work just as hard as the players do. I have a feeling we will have a very motivated staff this spring.

We have 24 commitments right now. Eight of them are enrolled already. We are still pursuing several high profile players. One or two could flip but this will still end up as one of the best signing classes CNS has brought in.

Looking like secondary coach Greg Brown may be next. His one year at Alabama was not a good one. He inherited a lot young players but the DB's did not develop and get better as the year went on IMO.

Bo Davis back at DL. Move Steele out of office job to OLB, Lance Thompson stay at ILB and Kirby Smart move back to secondary with CNS help.  Looks good to me.

Applause E-Cred pmull I am with you on this one. It is almost 2007 when the new staff started out to build and improve Alabama football.  Cheesy, I so hope this works out. Speed and more speed. RTR!

I'm glad someone else noticed this. Why do you say it appears he is next? Are there rumors out there?

 Huh?

 Huh?

I read a rumor on another board and it made too much sense not to be true.

This has got to be the most interesting off season since the first year that Saban arrived. NSD might be a hoot.
