All things considered this was a good year for the program. You have to learn to walk before you run. This team showed improvement in all areas. We are no longer an easy win for SEC teams.
We only lose one senior. Coach Curry has some good recruits and transfers coming in. This program is headed in the right direction for the first time in years.
Strange how the program went & stayed mediocre for 20 years isn't it? I don't understand how it was a allowed to happen.
Moody's program began to slip after 1999 and has not been competitive since.
It will be interesting to see how much improvement Coach Curry can make between year one and year two.
This is what I am always harping about. Yes, he did good for a number of years, but then he got complacent and the program fell apart. He was given a 6 year free ride after the success before he "retired," which I credit the AD for getting him out of there. No way we should have waited so long, 4 years tops, maybe less, since you could see the program slipping a little bit every year after the initial big success. Either you want to win and have a successful program or you want to waste time and money on a coach who is non-performing or just going through the motions, like Gottfried & Moody and the baseball coach before Wells.
