Here's what happened (in my opinion):

Coach Saban said the holding call, which brought the ball back from ~12 to the ~32 changed the play calling and led to the interception.  Guess we would have pounded them from the 12.

Blake Sims said it was his fault (for throwing into coverage).  Watch OJ on the play.  He has his man beaten, and expects to catch the ball by cradling it in both hands.  Then Golson comes from OJ's blind side and makes the catch.  OJ never saw him coming, so OJ didn't turn and try to catch the ball up high (and probably couldn't while running full throttle).  So, in my asshole opinion the ball should not have been thrown.  Sims thought he saw OJ open, and didn't account for Golson.  Golson make a terrific play to make the int.  The fact that Golson played at all was a surprise; he had a sore hamstring all week!

Put it on Blake if you will.  The ball hit OJ in the hands and he let a 5'9" 176 pound DB take it away from him.  He got "outwanted" on the play IMHO.  I didn't see any other options open.  I can't get inside OJH's head but I've really been underwhelmed by his effort this season - so far.  ROLL TIDE!!!

Don't put words in my mouth.  I'm not putting it on any one player.  I'm repeating what Blake himself said about throwing into coverage.  I didn't notice that during the game, but saw it clearly in the video.

Lack of effort?  Seems an unfair label to give someone...

Sorry.  The "Put it on Blake" was meant to be rhetorical, not directed at you.  My main point was that Howard does not seem to be as eager, motivated, whatever the right word is, as I'd like to see him.  The Ole Miss DB made a great play but I believe Howard should have caught the ball.

Turnovers and penalties.

The game was over before the interception was thrown.

If I were going to throw into double coverage I would throw to Cooper, but that is just me.  Should have been a td.

The 6'6" guy should not have let the 5'9" guy win.  Maybe there is a reason he has not been getting any pt.  He had 2 dropped passes also.

Losing Drake and then losing Kelly.  Bozeman better get busy.

My take is that Howard did not aggressively go after the ball, but "waited" for it. In a game ending situation you grab the ball, you don't just wait. Watching Mike Davis of A&M fight and aggressively go for passes is the example that comes to mind. He was 6'5" and used it to his advantage. Never assume you are wide open, especially when trying to win late in the game.

 Huh?
