This is actually an intriguing question. If they have 3 losses and get into the SECCG and win it, what will that say about the view that league champions should always get in? If you are the B1G you would probably stick to that view because (a) your league might get a team in the top 4, and (b) someone might actually be able to beat the SEC champ in the playoffs. I think most everyone else would see the folly of regarding the championship games as somehow more important or diagnostic than any other reg season game.
Lots of interesting things to watch this week. Will the Duck lovers move them into the vacuum left by Ole Miss. How far down does Ole Miss drop? This may tell us if the committee values record or head to head games more. What do they do to the domers who nearly lost to a team that didn't even win the President's trophy?
