Fantasy football analysts try to peg Mark Ingram's role with New Orleans Saints

Eric Karabell wrote an excellent breakdown of the New Orleans Saints' running back position, reminding readers that rookie tailback Mark Ingram will be sharing carries in a crowded backfield.

Ingram might indeed make a run at a 1,000-yard season.

Ingram has been turning heads throughout his first NFL training camp, showing a combination of power, shiftiness and breakaway ability.

I don't understand why the Saints brought in Sproles after trading Bush.  Like the article says, it's already a crowded backfield, and you would think the Saints would want to push for Ingram being their feature back, not getting lost in a sea of other running backs vying for playing time.

Good point. I imagine that the Saints want 3 good running backs. This keeps them with freah legs and some insurance if a running back goes out during a game.
