Two junior college transfers played. Jesse Williams started at defensive end. He had no tackles but was credited with a quarterback hurry. Defensive end Quinton Dial came off the bench and made one solo tackle that happened to be a sack for a 9-yard loss.

Nine redshirt freshmen got into the game. Wide receiver DeAndrew White started and had four catches for 44 yards. He also returned one kickoff for 24 yards and two punts for 34 yards, though he lost a fumble on one punt return.

Yes, they are going to be good ones.

Jesse didn't get credit for any tackles, but I know I saw him sammich a few guys at the same time as someone else.  It seems like there was another play where Jesse was the first one there (by a split second) but the announcers gave the other guy all the credit.

Did you guys hear Andre Wear go on and on about how we didn't have a pass rush threat like Cody?  Cody wasn't even in the game on passing downs.  His job was to clog the middle and stop the run, not rush the QB.

Don't leave out #81 on the special teams, those three were a wrecking machine.

I noticed Jesse right off the bat. I did not know his number and had to look him up. I did not notice him very often after the first two series. I was surprised he was not credited with a tackle. He was right in the middle of things several times.

Not a fan of Andre Ware and the broadcast crew for the game. However, they were better than the lady who called the barn game.

Beth Mowen hurts my ears and I refuse to listen.

I would pay to know what the Kent St. kid that lined up across from Jesse first thought.

Jesse was in on several tackles, especially early on in the game.  I didn't think my memory (or sight) was that poor, so I confirmed on the ESPN3 replay.  Not sure what the statistician was watching.

In fact he probably should've been credited with the tackle on KSU's first play.

Yep, I remember that first play too now that you mention it.

I noticed that Vinnie Sunseri has moved from his HS position of linebacker to safety for Bama.  He is definitely a head hunter, just a bit small compared to Bama's typical LBs, so that should be a good move for him in the long run.  The guy is definitely a head hunter; it shows on special teams.

Yes, I think we are set at LB and this gets him on the field quicker.

He not only is a headhunter but he is a leader as well. He's like a coach on the field when he is playing, it's amazing how well he knows the defensive schemes and how he positions the players to their correct places.
