I think this is very doable, not rocket science.

Author's Note: The math was simple. NCAA Bylaw 17.9.5.2-c that requires "round-robin" regular-season competition, though, could require two additional West games, resulting in an unbalanced total (i.e., four teams in the West playing nine SEC games). Accounting for that (unless the bylaw is amended) isn't so simple. Thanks to readers who pointed that out.

TUSCALOOSA | We don't know how many members the Southeastern Conference will have next season, but 13 seems like a possible number. So I decided to work out a feasible schedule based on 13 teams this morning.

Thanks.  Does look "doable".

Just one question.  How is Texas A&M going to manage to get an open date before every SEC game?

Looks like Cecil got it right this time. There won't be much room for outside opponents that are higher ranked. We will be playing higher ranked teams in the sEC. RTR!

What troubles me about it though is that every team in the West would not play every other team in the West.  That cannot be a long term situation.

That troubles me too.

Undecided I reckon I must be the only person that isn't all excited about the SEC expanding and thankful that Texas A & M is willing to come save "Our" conference...Shucks, after having one SEC school or another winning the national championship the past several years in a row, I didn't even realize it needed saving  Huh?

It's not about "saving" the conference, it's about expanding the conference to enhance its product. Texas A&M opens the Texas market up, which is gigantic. A&M has a huge alumni & fan base. Plus, it really breaks open the state for recruiting for the SEC.

Sorry MD, but I still don't get it because I don't see anything wrong with the "product" as it is now...other than Auburn...If the SEC is going after TAMU to replace Auburn when they get the death penalty then maybe I understand...

anyway...no hard feelings  Kiss

No problem, but that's why we took A&M whether you like it or not.     Dog

In Texas, A&M is the equivalent of Auburn.

Bingo! If A&M has just 20% of Texas as fans, that's still over 5 million folks, more than the entire population of Alabama.
