A great letter to let you know that the importance of athletics is not just the game.  This is also seen in the high school level.  What worries me is that some people are trying to take athletics out of the high schools and make them like intramurals.

I was just coming here to post this if it hadn't been posted already. That was an amazing read, and gave me an insight into how Saban's Bama works that I haven't seen before. 

My heart hurts for Eddie. I can't imagine what it must be like for him to have to sit this out, but the character he's shown is special. It was amazing to watch him grow from a lost freshman to an elite player.  He'll be remembered as one of my all-time Bama favorites.

Wow, great letter!   

I’ll never forget lining up against Amari Cooper one day in practice when I was a freshman. He was just destroying me — making me look silly on every single play. I was embarrassed. At some point I looked over at Coach Saban, begging for some relief. Coach looked back at me and yelled, “Eddie, I’m not taking him off you, so you better get used to it!”

When I think about my fellow captains — Cam, Reuben and Jonathan — as well as the other seniors on this team, I feel a lot of pride about how much we’ve grown over the years. Playing at Bama is bigger than winning one national championship. Winning championships is the expectation.
