Alabama freshman QB Tua Tagovailoa is a bit of an oddity in football these days.
As a left-handed quarterback, the Hawaii native is one of a dying breed of unusual athletes.
However, Tagovailoa wasn’t always a southpaw, according to an AL.com report. In fact, Tua’s father, Galu — himself a left-handed thrower — turned his son into a lefty simply so he wouldn’t be the family’s only left-hander:
