FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas -- Arkansas better be prepared to win third-down plays on offense if it hopes to topple No. 3 Alabama on Saturday.
The Razorbacks have lost all three of their games against Alabama under Coach Bobby Petrino and have been manhandled on third downs on each occasion.
Arkansas has converted just 9 of 41 third-down plays (21.9 percent) in its past three games against the big, physical Alabama defenses assembled and tutored by Coach Nick Saban.
The Crimson Tide has pressured and sacked Arkansas quarterbacks and forced them into key mistakes in each of those games, including eight interceptions.
"They're based on showing a lot of looks to get the pressure on the quarterback and be physical," Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson said. "They're a physical defense, so I expect them to do that. They always have. I also expect them to man up on us, and I think that matches up well with some of the guys we've got splitting out at receiver."
