This is a few days old, sorry I didn't get it on the forum sooner.
Click here for linkBama actually had a scrimmage game against Jacksonville State a few days earlier that was closed to the public and what I heard from this wasn't what any of us wanted to hear. The team lost bad to this and from what little that i heard from Coach AJ he was not a happy camper.
After hearing all the bad news from the previous scrimmage with Jacksonville State I was very skeptical about what I might see against Montevallo. I wasn't looking for a 100+ score nor a big blowout, I was looking for team play and just how would they react after their previous embarrassment. I got what I was looking for.
I'll say again that there is some good talent on this team and it showed some against the Montevallo team. There was no one man show but some good ball movement and execution on offense and some stingy defensive play. They made some turnovers but they were mostly hustling mistakes, something that should correct itself as the season goes. I will say though, there is work to be done at the free throw line. The outside shooting isn't where we all would like it to be but the team aggression for loose balls/rebounds looks promising. It's early in the year and they look like and early in the year team right now but I think there are better days ahead for the team. Hopefully that embarrassment at Jacksonville State will be the spark that lights their fire in the games ahead.
Their next game is against Southern University Tuesday 11/6/18 7:00pm
