"This sort of change of schedule for today was something that was planned," Alabama coach Nick Saban said today at his news conference. "It had nothing to do with outcomes, and it has nothing to do with opponents. We've done this every year.

"When we play eight games in a row, we don't like to play more than six without changing the routine, giving the players basically two days where they don't do much."
