Maybe Gregg Doyle, who says Oklahoma State is better, can't really add beyond three teams:

Penn State = 9-3
Arkansas = 10-2
LSU = 13-0
Ga. Southern = 10-2
Auburn = 7-5

Yes, but Alabama is the only one-loss team in the country that was beaten by a 13-0 team.   Huh?

The only way to shut people up will be to win the game!!!

But really, if this brings about some change in the BCS system it might be good in the long run.  The NC game is so late.  I don't see why the top four teams couldn't play in a New Year's Day bowl -- they'd actually have to play on Jan 1 -- and then the two winners meet a week later in the NC game.  The interest in those two semi-final bowl games would be tremendous.

Of course whoever was #5 would argue they should not have been left out, but it would at least be a little more inclusive system.

Statistics are meaningless in gauging true SOS. The Florida team that we beat within an inch of their lives was not at all the same team Auburn played or even LSU. We played a much improved Miss St from the team that lost (by bad luck) to the barn. PSU was fired up and healthy. They still had a chance for great things until we embarrassed them in front of a home crowd. Big 12 teams have a much easier path for weathering the conference play storm than do teams in the SEC. We have left a trail of dead (half dead) QBs, for instance.

Injuring QB's isn't my idea of how good team we have. If you don't use strength-of-schedule, then how do you gauge what kind of schedule you play? I think the SOS is very relevant, but we are still much better than Ok. State. We lost by 3 to LSU, they lost to a team with 6 losses on the season.

The path of least resistance would have been the OSU schedule, compared to ours. I have no problem saying OSU would have lost 3 games if they played our schedule this season. For some reason this never translates to the mathematical SOS,--year in, year out. I am trying to understand why. But not only are we dishing out a hard, physical beating we are also taking one,--every Saturday. Let's not even mention teams play the Tide as if it were the Superbowl. But our (SEC) SOS always is weak mathematically.

[I think you have misunderstood my reference of the "trail of half dead QBs".  Never in any post of mine will you find me hoping to hurt a player or gloating about an opponents injury. My paragraph flows pretty well. I was talking about how teams fall off (Florida) after we play them. Just wanted to make sure my comment was taken in context.]
