BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The last time Nick Saban attended a national championship celebration, he made what amounted to a bold declaration for a coach who loves processes as much as Little Debbie snacks.

Yeah, I'd say he has sort of earned it, if you consider two national titles, an SEC title, three No. 1 recruiting classes, three BCS bowl games, five bowl wins, a Heisman trophy winner, another Heisman finalist, multiple NFL draftees, multiple All-Americans, and millions for the athletic department to be earning it. Frankly, it all sounds ho hum to me.

The media and everybody else in the country had a field day slamming CNS when the announcement was made that he had accepted to come to Bama. Among the things that we all heard was:

He won't be at Bama 2 years.
He's washed up.
Alabama really screwed up hiring this guy.
This over-paid coach will run Bama into the ground.
They'll be lucky to win an SEC championship, much less a NC.
What recruit would ever want to go to Bama with Saban's love 'em and leave 'em track record?
