You don't see JAMOS give up on the Tide very often. Mark this one in your little book where you keep important stuff!

I've followed womens basketball for quite some time, as my friend Rick Moody once coached there. He explained to me more than once how difficult it is to build and sustain a winning program at Bama. Wendell Hudson is one of the nicest guys you are ever going to meet and I feel so bad for him as it tries to right the sinking ship.

They renovated Foster Auditorium for the women to have their own building this year and I thought this might be the spark that would light the fire in their program, but instead the program really had another bad year. There were a lot of factors in the quality of this team and sometmes it is just called bad luck for the reasons for their failure. They did have one shining night though as they beat a top ten team, Kentucky, this season and played a Georgia team very hard only to lose a close one at the end, not to forget their good start at the beginning of the season.

Hopefully Wendell can regroup in the off season and have some luck in recruiting and start again in bringing the program back to their winning ways that they once had. It's not an impossible job, but a very difficult one and I don't seeing it all happening in one year, but Rome wasn't built overnight either. Good luck Wendel and Roll Tide!!

Certainly Wendell understands building a program from scratch.  He was the keystone player in CM Newton's team that came to prominence during the early 1970s.  Before Wendell, Alabama hardly won an SEC game.

Wendell Hudson was Bama's first schollied Tide African-American athlete in any sport, if my recollection is correct. If I am right, this alone merits our support for The Lady Tiders.
